Counseling Services

Quest Life Counseling currently provides therapy for adult individuals (including college students) and couples. In the future, we hope to offer additional services such as group therapy, family therapy, and therapy for children and teens.

We currently do not accept insurance, but if your health insurance provider offers reimbursement for counseling services, we will attempt to provide a receipt at the end of each session for you to turn in to your health insurance provider if your provider will cover pre-licensed therapists under supervision.*

Please note that insurance companies generally will not cover couples counseling. In addition, insurance companies generally require a diagnosis on your record to be covered for individual therapy. Although private pay (full fee with no insurance) is more expensive, it does provide clients with more anonymity with regard to their counseling experience.

*Please note that if your health insurance provider does offer reimbursement for counseling services, you will still need to pay your therapist in full for your appointment and wait for your health insurance provider to reimburse you per their policy. Please verify with your insurance company first if you plan on being reimbursed for counseling services. Therapists are not responsible for reimbursement, nor are they responsible for your health insurance provider’s failure to reimburse you.

Individual Adult Therapy

50 minutes: $120* | 90 minutes: $190

Sadness

Counseling services for adults (including college students) last for 50 minutes (we also offer 90-minute sessions) and include therapy for one adult client. Fee is based on income* as determined in financial agreement section of intake paperwork. Therapist will discuss completed paperwork and come to a financial agreement with client during the first session.

*A limited number of clients may be eligible for our income-based sliding scale.

Adult Couples Therapy

50 minutes: $120* | 90 minutes: $190

Couple

Counseling services for couples last for 50 minutes (we also offer 90-minute sessions) and include pre-engagement, pre-marital, and marital therapy.** We are educated and trained in systems theory and view the couple as the client; therefore, we ask that both individuals make a commitment to show up together to work toward relationship goals.

The therapist will often meet with both partners for the first session, one partner individually for the second, the other partner individually for the third, and then come back together for the fourth session and thereafter. This is to establish trust with each partner and to determine whether couples therapy is recommended.

Couples therapy is contraindicated in situations of abuse; therefore, Quest Life Counseling does not provide couples counseling services for abusive partners.

Fee is based on income* as determined in financial agreement section of intake paperwork. Therapist will discuss completed paperwork and come to a financial agreement with client during the first session.

*A limited number of clients may be eligible for our income-based sliding scale.

**We do not provide divorce mediation services, but we can find you a referral for a professional who is trained to do so. We are not certified Custody Evaluators or Expert Witnesses as defined by the legal system. As therapists, we are not permitted to make any judgments on custody.

Please see the Practice Policies form found on our First Session Policies & Paperwork page for more information related to your therapist’s policies.
